CUMH bathrooms
Kendellen Construction led the phased refurbishment of bathroom facilities throughout Cork University Maternity Hospital for the Health Service Executive. The project involved the complete upgrade of patient and staff bathrooms, delivered at a rate of one to two bathrooms per week while the hospital remained fully operational.
The works included the full strip-out of existing bathroom infrastructure, installation of new non-slip flooring, hygienic Whiterock wall cladding, suspended ceilings, sanitary ware, showers, sinks and toilets. All associated mechanical and electrical works were undertaken, including plumbing modifications, drainage upgrades, lighting, ventilation and final commissioning. Careful phasing and coordination ensured each area was returned to service quickly, with minimal disruption to hospital operations and full compliance with healthcare, infection control and safety standards.
