Kendellen Construction delivered a major water services infrastructure scheme for the Health Service Executive at St Finbarr's Hospital, with a contract value of €1.35 million and a programme duration of three months. The project involved the installation of approximately 4 km of new watermain and 4 km of foul rising main to provide a robust and upgraded utility connection to the hospital campus.

The watermain was routed from Tower to the hospital, with the alignment crossing the grounds of Blarney Golf Resort. This required careful coordination with the resort, the HSE and utility stakeholders to maintain continuity of supply throughout the works. A key element of the project was the construction of a 9-metre-deep pump station located just 8 metres from a fully operational hospital building. Kendellen implemented engineered temporary works and excavation support systems to protect the adjacent structure and ensure safe delivery. Operating within a live healthcare environment, the works were carried out under strict infection prevention controls and were completed on programme, with zero disruption to hospital operations.
